In this tutorial I will show you one of the most popular ways for making paracord lanyards. It is a fairly simple technique with nice looking results.
The most basic paracord lanyard is made using the snake knot. It is a round knot design often used in bracelets, but it also works well in a lanyard design.
To make this project you will need a snap hook, two pieces of paracord 550, a knife and something to melt the cord with.
We start off by joining the two cords together. We attach them onto the snap hook with a larks head knot.
We start the snake knot by making a twist and putting the other cord through. We then slide the other piece of paracord under the first cord and back through the loop.
At this point we start a series of snake knots. These are made by loosening the knot, sliding the other cord behind the cord and inserting the other cord through the loop. We then tighten up the knot a bit and flip the lanyard around. At that point we repeat the process by loosening the knot and repeating the same process, but with the cord colors reversed this time.
